AIDONOHORI
Natural Attractions - Outdoor activities
The area of Aidonohori is crossed by a tributary of the Onohonos that has its source at the location of Angelina. Along the streams and rivers grow a great number of walnut trees, and the vegetation and wildlife close to the river is thick and lovely. A forest road leads to a site called Tsapournia seven kilometres from the village. The summit there, with an altitude of 1,650 metres, provides a viewpoint from which is visible the entire plain of Thessaly. The sulphur-rich mineral springs of Sulanta are known to help rheumatism but have not been formally developed.
Culture - Events

After mass and communion on the 26th of July at the Church of Saint Paraskevi, the yearly village festival is held on the square. Another celebration is held on the 15th of August at the Church of the Holy Virgin. The fetes held on the second day of Easter are particularly special. During the fete of the "Signa," a picturesque auction is held of icons of Saint Paraskevi to raise money for the upkeep of the church. Many visitors come to share in the roast meat, pastries, drinks and Easter Eggs provided for the celebration. The villagers perform their traditional "Tai-Tai", a folk dance the visitor shouldn't miss. Traditional weddings are still held in the village accompanied by centuries-old customs. The Society of Aidonohorites is based in Athens and organises musical performances and field trips to the village.

DO NOT MISS the festival on the 26th of July, the holiday of 15th of August, and the fetes of the 2nd day of Easter with the special local Tai-tai dance.
